I stopped by an office supply company yesterday and purchased a 2007 calendar....
How awesome to think that before us lies an entire year of days and months!!! I have already filled in birthdays and anniversaries...and of course, my due date....cause you never know just what I'll remember with the 'baby brains.' It's a year filled with excitement and joy, laughter and heartache. But, more than that...it's a clean slate...a chance to start over...a new beginning. For me, that's one of the best things about being a Christian. God's grace allows me the chance to start all over...each and every day.
If that's what you need today(a new start) , know you can have it in a relationship with Jesus.
I feel blessed to call you my friend!!! Happy 2007!!!

A couple of years ago, Curt (my hubby and best bud) ventured out to go shopping on the day after Christmas. I don't know what posessed us...other than we were looking for a good bargain. But, we did find one gift that we treasure to this day. It wasn't an exceptional baragain on a big ticket item....just an empty box. It was wrapped in purple velvet with a gold bow on the top. There was nothing special about the box...but, the poem that went along with it...made us see Christmas as it was meant to be. Our puppy chewed off the bottom of the poem, so I don't know who to give credit to...but, I am thankful that they penned these words:
The Christmas Present
Our Gift to God
This is the Christmas Present,
a special present, meant to be placed
beneath the tree,
nestled among the other gifts.
It is a present for
The infant King -
A royal box,
meant to be seen
and meant to be pondered
As Christmas Day approaches.
For it is the gift of ourselves -
A completely empty gift
Devoid of anything good,
Anything pleasing...
Nothing at all to give a newborn King.
And yet,
That is the very gift He came to receive.
Merry Christmas!!! You are a blessing to me and my family!!!

Technology is AMAZING!!!
My latest ultrasound was Tuesday...and we finally got a glimpse at her face. I think she looks like me!!! :) We also saw her brain stem...and it was confirmed that she is getting what little brain her mother had! :)
Thank you for your prayers!!!

I always look forward to Thanksgiving...not only does it tell me that Christmas is right around the corner...but, my husband turns into a 10 year old all over again!!! He is so much fun during this season of the year! He is a Christmas freak!!! :)
I also have a very special occasion coming up this Saturday. We'll gather friends and family to celebrate my grandmother's 90th birthday. I cannot wait to celebrate her!!! She has always been a very special woman to me. She has "run the race" and run it well. When I was a kid, I remember her singing a "Tom, Tom the Turkey" song. I am going to see if I can't get her to sing it again for me....
When I look at her life, I have something totally different to be thankful for. She has been the cornerstone of our family for years. We've always gathered at her house for holidays, funerals, birthdays....always knowing that there would be a warm meal, words of wisdom and lots of love. I am thankful for the legacy that she has given me...I love her with all my heart. Happy Birthday, Maw Maw!!!
I hope you have time to get together with the special people in your life this week. Know that I am thankful for you....
Many blessings,
Carol
YOU ARE A BLESSING TO ME!!
I have so much to be thankful for this year...the new life that God has given our family...the new life He gives us daily...and I can't thank him enough for you. Your prayer support and well wishes have meant so much to me and Curt over the last couple of months. I have to tell you that I was SHOCKED when the team returned from collecting shoeboxes for OCC in Hickory and they had gifts for ME!!?? You are so sweet and thoughtful. Thank you to Aubrey, Alexis, Rachel, Iliana, Rebekah, Gilda, Heather...you gals are amazing. What sweet gifts are surrounding me here on my desk...a pink bear, a photo album, 2 bibs, a sleeper, a prayer book for mommy, all sorts of smell goods. Top that off with your calls and e-mails and there is no doubt that I am a blessed woman. Thank you so much for your love!
You are an encouragement to me as we make this journey together....
Love you!!!
